I hate to do this but here goes - anybody out there got a time machine? No? Well that's a pity because poor old Steve has a bit of a problem. Y' see he's stuck in a coffee bar in 1969 with a green Arran jumper, acoustic guitar, and a Ralph McTell fan club membership card and he desperately needs rescuing. Thus Lovers Dream' a three track demo cassette does nothing to showcase Steve's talents at all. The title track shows hints of promise - all Clannad and heavy atmospherics - and is definitely the way forward. The other two songs have very little to offer at all and whilst being a songwriter is very creditable, the songs still have to be relevant for today. Steve's biography proves he's got the right intentions, it's just a pity Thus Lovers Dream' lets him down on, the song front. C'mon Steve it's 1991 and your wake up call is ringing.
