If you've ever come across the music of Steve Parsons, you'll be left with one indisputable fact that seems to linger above everything else. He's got an incredi­ble voice! But don't be fooled because THAT voice doesn't eclipse the rest of the man's talents! He's also a fine songwriter and a man who wants to minister with the music. His latest album 'The Colour Of Love' has enough of a pop produc­tion to dress his excellent songs in a fine, catchy pop sheen but also enough space to let the songs breathe a little. There are some outstanding moments captured on this independent release that demand you immediately get a copy and investigate! Try the purepop of the opener "Believe" which is a compelling, catchy little thing that soon inveigles its way into your brain. There's poetry in the vastness described in the lyrics of "Artist Of Heaven" and there's the touch­ing plea of the apologetics contained in the haunting ballad "Man Needs God". Painting with a broad brush that takes in humanity's struggles and the vastness of God, yet illustrating with a fine brush that creates word pictures capable of touching the individual wounds of the human soul, this is an album that minis­ters. Making top pop albums isn't easy on a limited budget. Making top pop albums that have something powerful to say is even harder. Oh yeah - and he's got an amazing voice! Why isn't Steve Parsons huge? After hearing this, I'm per­plexed!
