Over the years, CCM mainstay Steve Parsons has become known for writing intelligent songs that promote the Gospel and his first studio release since 2004's 'Certain Possibilities' is no exception. A labour of love for the Cheshire-based songsmith, this is a polished affair and the upbeat opener "Sink To The Bottom" oozes a confidence that continues in the likes of the melodic "Carousel" and the adapted Charles Wesley hymn "What Shall I Do?". Parsons' rich voice is his main asset and, along with his writing, songs such as the paraphrased parable "Prodigal" and the biographical "Dirt" - which charts the plight of a bullied schoolgirl whilst maintaining an evangelical edge - sees the man's skills gel to produce mature pieces of work. Guitar virtuoso Dan Wheeler helps out on the production duties while America's sanctified bluesman Jimmie Bratcher also makes an appearance. Finally, Andreana Arganda and Cathy Burton add their voices to New Life Waiting" which adds the icing to an already appetising cake.
