Steve's previous albums (this is his ninth) have been so abounding in kitche over-production as to make them all but unlistenable to this reviewer. But then, heavily orchestrated anthems are what have made Steve's name and he returns to that peculiarly American musical genre on the everything-but-the-kitchen-sink orchestrated title track here. But elsewhere producer Greg Nelson keeps a hold on the strings, horns, choirs and tympanies and lets Steve's light, warm tenor glide over delicate acoustics. The songs here are excellent with the writing gifts of Kelly Willard, Michael W Smith, Jon Mohrand Randall Dennis supplying Steve with just the right kind of poignant ballads to show off his talents while the duet with Ms Willard on "Hidden Valleys' produces the standout track. Steve's best ever album.
