Back in the '80s Steve Arrington was at the forefront of mainstream R&B with the band Slave and then a solo career with Warners. He even enjoyed chart success here in the UK with some songs, the biggest of which was the dance classic "Feels So Real". By the time Arrington became an R&B star he had also committed his life to Christ and eventually exited the music scene to go into ministry. Now, 25 years later he has returned to release a new album that combines a radical message with cutting edge R&B. The good news is that he still has the vocal chops and is sounding stronger than ever! From the infectious groove of "I'm On Fire" to the powerful tribute ballad to Coretta King and Rosa Parks ("Song For Coretta And Rosa") and the impossibly funky "Soul Food", Arrington covers all the bases and demonstrates his eclectic tastes and skills. He doesn't shrink back musically or spiritually on this album but instead creates something that is both visionary and impacting.
