For a fine example of modern punk rock for the '90s, 'Fight The System' comes highly recommended. If I said to you ska, you'd probably think horns: Squad Five-O; however, ditch the brass for ska-based rhythms interspersed by hard edged guitar riffs enough to satisfy any hard-core fanatic. Tight musicianship, superb vocal delivery , witty and dynamic arrangements all work together to produce a fine set of original material, expressed in a novel and compelling way. Stand out pieces are "The Tie That Binds", "Kids Of The World Unite", "The Anthem of Jimi Rocketship" and the cool rhythms of "My God, My Life". Amazingly enough, the hidden "live" track, whilst ska-influenced, plays host to one of the best mid-way guitar solos I've heard for a long time. 'Fight The System' stands head and shoulders above the recent spate of modern punk rock that have happily invaded these shores. Don't miss out!
