Five mixes of "Spirit" including the much touted "Fugees Refugee Mix" by Wyclef which strips down the whole shebang and gives it a whole new groove, as well as incorporating a bit of the Pointer Sisters' "Yes We Can Can"! Hooking up with one of the world's hottest acts makes for stunning listening but I actually prefer the move commercial radio mix, perhaps because these days my ears are permanently searching for things I can play on the radio! Whatever, there's no doubting that this is a top single. Craig Mack's rapping is cool and both the radio and album mixes are full of funky old soul. The closing "Nitro Mix" gives the whole thing a different dancy vibe whereas the "Noontime" mix by J Dub is the most laid back introducing acoustic elements. As you'd expect, this is premier league stuff proving that the departure of Ann Nesby won't prevent The Blackness continue a path to global domination!
