This gospel team, from Buffalo, New York consists of three sons of Pastor Robert Deas, together with their brother-in-law and a friend. Most of the nine tracks are written by the brothers, especially Patrick Deas. They are very much veterans, having started the group in 1966 and have sung at concerts by Andrae Crouch and The Mighty Clouds Of Joy. Their style ranges from traditional quartet style through to more contemporary sounds with one or two cuts bordering on hip-hop. While the songs, with their variety of style, retain interest, the album is underproduced and the lead vocals often stray from hitting precisely the right note. Plenty of rootsy promise but a better production clearly needed.
