If you were to choose a band that warranted an 'Early Years' compilation, Sonicflood are not the first group that would immediately spring to mind. Sadly, this compilation of their "early" (six years old) stuff is a bit of a non-event. If you were a fan of the band when they first came onto the scene with their polished rock worship then you will have all these tracks already. They're taken from the albums 'Sonicflood' (1999) and 'Sonicpraise' (2001). Other than the two tracks penned by the band in 1998, all the rest of the songs are at least 10-15 years old (including a reasonable version of "Open The Eyes Of My Heart" alongside "Did You Feel The Mountains Tremble" and "I Could Sing Of Your Love Forever" from the Delirious? archive). In '99 doing rock worship was a bit of a novelty in the US. Today, of course, seemingly every American band and their pets have made a worship album accessible to fans of their particular musical style. Back to Sonicflood, this is really an incredibly lazy release, from the concept to the cover art.
