The original Sonicflood split up in 2000 after lead singer Jeff Deyo was voted out of the band. Rick Heil took over the band name, after some legal wrangling, and since then there's been a steady turnover of band members and, if truth be told, a steady decline in creative standards since those groundbreaking first recordings of full on rock worship. It seems the rot has finally been stopped as this, at least, is a pretty good album. Rick says, "For this record, we wanted to get past our human fears of insecurity to really open up and be transparent in writing these songs of adoration. These are some of the most vulnerable songs we have written yet." A music video for the single "Look To Love" was shot in Nashville and released to television. As he sings "If we all live for something/Then we won't die for nothing/Lift your hands and look to love/Pray for hope that overcomes/Broken hearts with empty dreams/That only God can make complete" you just want to turn it up loud and sing along with them. The songs are a mixture of modern rock praise and more thoughtful piano dominated worship that give a nod to Delirious? and Chris Tomlin. On a personal note, Rick and his wife were on TBN's Praise The Lord in September 2008 where Rick gave his testimony of being healed of Crohn's Disease. Perhaps this is the reason that this album abounds with encouragement and warmth.

Product Description
The new album from SONICFLOOD features 10 uplifting praise anthems, centred on changing our hearts to be more like Christ’s, and living courageously for Him. “I love all kinds of sounds and musical styles and I hear those influences on this project - from sombre and reflective to high energy, and everything in between. When we approached the writing for this album, we were like, what's God revealing to us about ourselves in the light of His majesty and mercy? And then how can we get past our fears of insecurity to really open up and be transparent in writing these songs of adoration? .” - Rick Heil of SONICFLOOd
