In my book Sinead is one of pop music's greatest singers and whatever the differences in the dear lady's theology and lifestyle few can doubt her passionate love of Scripture and the truths it contains. Here the Irish star sings with the power of an Old Testament prophet and her compelling renditions of several songs here are hugely memorable. This package comes in a 2CD set with the Dublin CD featuring raw acoustic versions of the songs and the London CD new versions aided by the electronics of producer RonTom. With the exception of her unnecessary cover of the Rice/Webber "I Don't Know How To Love Him" (only featured on the London CD) all the songs here are memorable and whether it's her powerful praise anthem "Whomsoever Dwells" (taken from Psalm 91), her telling cover of Curtis Mayfield's "We People Who Are Darker Than Blue" or her plea for the need of solidarity in the place of discord "If You Had A Vineyard" (based on verses from Isaiah and Jeremiah) these are tremendous tracks with Sinead's spine-tingling voice able to convey passion and vulnerability like few others. For me, the best tracks are "33" from the Dublin CD and "Out Of The Depths" from the London album. It will be fascinating to see how the mass music industry (and indeed the Christian music world - Spirit Music are putting this into UK Christian bookshops) respond to this fascinating and challenging album.
