Here are some things about this single. It features Simon Goodall whom long-in-tooth followers of Christian music will recognise as the man who sang on dozens and dozens of worship albums when unimaginative record companies would record and release cover version albums of songs gleaned from near and far. It must have been demanding work recording an endless stream of Hillsong, Kendrick and Redman songs but Goodall did it well, having an excellent voice with a close resemblance to that of Cliff Richard. But in recent years Simon has switched to working in the mainstream and "My Love For Christmas" is a pretty good stab at the Radio 2 easy listening pop marketplace. This original song was written by David Martin (the composer of the Barry Manilow hit of yesteryear "Can't Smile Without You"). If the idea of a well-produced and well sung song about how "everything is magical at Christmas", brim-full of images of children playing in the snow, opening presents under the tree and kisses under the mistletoe, this will do nicely.
