No panpipes this time from Simeon Wood, but flute throughout with John Gerighty ably assisting him on guitar. The opening title "The Flower Duet From The Opera Latime By Delibes" may not be familiar to Joe Punter but the music certainly is; it's that haunting music used so effectively in the British Airways TV commercial. Other works too on offer here have received the 'classics for the masses' TV commercial exposure, Erik Satie's "Gymnopedie No 3" seems to crop up all over the place. The works here have been carefully selected for mass popularity: "Ave Maria", "Claire De Lune" and though the serious music purist might wince at the predictability these lilting and deft renditions are simply yet beautifully executed. Another skilful example of marketing classical music by pagan composers as music to aid Christian meditation.
