Here's a CCM Trivial Pursuits question for you, name me an Israeli-based Christian hip-hop group who rap in Arabic? Yep, Silver Degree have a field of activity almost certainly all to themselves. So it's pretty impressive as to how good they are. The duo consists of MCs Manuel Abuali and Bishara Kuttab and their gritty diatribes are powerfully delivered with "It's Time" and "Everything Is Gonna Be Alright" particular standouts. My favourite cut remains the Cross Rhythms turntable hit "Crank It", though other songs here are beginning to register. One or two of the rhythms are a bit stereotyped and personally I could have done with more rapping in Arabic and less in English, but overall this is a powerful ministry that deserves exposure on the national stage.
