Seven are led by Del Currie, ex-bass player with Split Level. What the band delivers is a blistering, gutsy set of grunge-cum-indie rock songs. If they bring the feel of this production to a live performance, then it will be well worth getting to a gig. Del has crafted all the songs and this is a really good debut album. I like the overall sound of the band and the strong vocals and lyrics. God's love has a prime place in the songs and commitment is clear in "Take This Life" - "and watch it grow/All I have you've given to me/The life I live, the breath I breathe." The song "I Believe In You" relates the conversion of a young woman - "For the first time/She screams 'Jesus, I'm yours'." In contrast, I like the anarchically correct lyrics (slightly a la Sex Pistols) - "This is how we've always done it/This is how it's meant to be...I like it just the way it is/Why change it?/We don't want to leave you standing/We don't want to change your lives/We just want to keep it moving/We just want to feed our lives." Those opposed to change would do well to listen to this plea. Indie/grunge fans won't be disappointed with this album.
