A lot of heavy metal buffs were seriously disappointed by Scott's debut solo album 'Heart Like Thunder' after his halcyon days with heavy metal pioneers Whitecross. I don't suppose this set either will make the cries of "wimp-out" die down. For Scott pursues the same path of hooky pop-rock. At times the effect is thoroughly engaging, for instance the opening "That's Not Enough" has a great hook. On other occasions the weakness of Scott's material recalls Mark Farner on a bad day. He needs a producer to sift out the weaker songs. In the meantime any fans he has left had better pick out the good cuts here.
