Octavia Thomas, aka Scooda out of St Louis, Missouri, has released a number of hit singles, having initially started his rap career as part of a group. He has been rapping since age 12 and is now a gospel radio host. Scooda's style is quite gritty though clear, with a passion for the Gospel and encouraging listeners to go on with God. On "Definition Of Understand" he declares that "I'm not the person that I used to be/Now I'm a person that he can use to be/A vessel for the lost to see." Scooda brings a clever play on words in "Soap Bars" letting us know that his rhymes are clean, washed by Jesus - as well as dropping some serious double-timing. The rapper ends this seven-song mini-album with the uplifting slow-bouncer, "Check Me Out".
