Sandra's 13th release finds her in a worshipful frame of mind, with many songs taking inspiration from Scripture itself. Vocally, there are strong comparisons to Emmylou Harris, sounding like the classic Americana 'Wrecking Ball' album in places. Examples are the title track and "Call Him Good", based on Psalm 104. Other songs reflect 1 Peter, Psalm 131 and the book of Jude. All Sons & Daughters also add sublime backing vocals on the beautiful "Trinity Song" written on a Portugal holiday. Overall, the album presents a powerful set of reflective songs, demonstrating contemplative song writing at its best. Its understated and downbeat mood means that 'God's Highway' is unlikely to win Sandra many more fans but for those who've already connected to Sandra's particular brand of skilfully crafted spiritual reflections this will be a welcome set of songs.
