Since 2013 the Stockholm-based husband and wife duo Salt Of The Sound have been producing reflective music enabling calm contemplation of God's work in life. Having released their last full album 'Echoes Of Wonder' in October 2015, Anita and Ben have obviously not put their feet up, releasing this three-track EP in March. Inspired by the Easter message of hope, it features one original song, an instrumental and a cover of the Fanny Crosby hymn, "Jesus Keep Me Near The Cross". Anita's dreamy, gentle vocals are underpinned by the kind of laidback piano and electronica combination an artist like Jon Hopkins would produce. Both the hymn and "Made A Way" continue the journeying theme that threads through earlier albums; from a position of being lost or in dark valleys, via the cross "'til at last my soul shall find rest beyond the river." The instrumental track, "Alive", conjures up an image of the resurrection scene from the end of 'The Passion Of The Christ', building as the stone rolls away and light floods into the tomb. Some of the most evocative Christian music I've heard for a while.
