Ignoring claims that there's a strong rave influence here (some of the programming is funkier than on 1991 's 'Look At Christ' but this is still a long way from a dance album) this is a fine follow up to its predecessor. Like 'Look At Christ' relying on Scripture for its lyrical focus, it is an emotive look at various biblical themes this time from the Old Testament. So we have the creation ("Kyrie Eleison"), Abraham ("Gloria"), King David ("Miserere"), the prophet Isaiah ("Prince Of Peace") and many other subjects. The integration between the programmed accompaniments and Sal's eery, adenoidal voice is much better than on the last album, while several of the songs have a haunting quality of a truly original composer.
