Sal, who of course was once a Brit chart maker and after his conversion cut some excellent Christian albums, is now based in Chicago. I'm grateful to the Sal Solo website www.SalSolo.com for reminding me what I said back in 1999 when the original 'Mass For the Millennium' was dropped by Admiral Cummings into my hot sticky mitts. "The music is gorgeously ambient and at the same time intensely devotional, drawing on all sorts of traditions from classical and Gregorian through to world music and pop." Having heard this update, with the orchestras and monks banished in favour of guitars and drums, I still love it, and I still believe that it is an excellent way of encouraging people to worship in a meaningful way. Also, it's now a resource, as Sal has included PDF files for the music and guitar chords. If you enjoyed Sal's other projects, this new one is well worth searching out.
