Fans of the pop band Press Play will recognise the name of lead vocalist Sada K who has now released her debut solo album. 'Long Story Short', unlike her work with Press Play, is a much more soulful R&B record. "Dance Through The Fire" features a hip-hop inspired beat with Sada reminding the listener that if we hold on to God, he will help us through the difficult times. "Broken" has a soft rock feel with ambient distorted guitar accompaniment behind some uplifting lyrics ("Nothing can shake me/For I've already been chosen"). There are some spoken word tracks no longer than 30 seconds, one of which introduces "All About Love", which features another one-time Press Play singer, Jonathan Thulin. The two vocalists complement each other very well in this more pop-inspired track with a piano and string arrangement. With this track, "Fly" and "Stand Up" all sounding like they'd sound good on radio and with consistently strong lyrics which deal with themes like love, happiness and pain, this is an extremely impressive solo debut.
