Ronnie is a US pop act who appeared briefly on Michael W Smith's Rocketown label in 2002 before disappearing. Now he's returned with ths impressive set. The opener "Breakaway" features Timberlake-tight pop beats and a funky verse builds quickly to an anthemic chorus - it sets the pattern for the rest of an accomplished album that is full of hooks. "Fight" is probably one of the best songs ever written about spiritual warfare and packs a real punch. The title track is a power ballad that is pretty self explanatory (and thankfully in a minority surrounded as it us by upbeat, well paced tracks). Ronnie has a quality pop voice while his songs are crafted numbers that are encouraging, inspiring and honest. But his message is clear: "Jesus, you are my everything" ("My Inheritance"). While it may lack some originality, 'God Speaking' can't be faulted as a positive record that is a cut above a lot of the God-pop around.
