Ron's mannered performances and overblown orchestrations have now for me become too stylised and certainly don't act as an aid to help me praise or worship the Lord. But that of course is a matter of taste and with a huge mass of churchgoers willing to rush out and buy the CD of this mega praise concert recorded in Lakeland, Florida before nine thousand people I'm obviously in a minority. Suffice to say that it's classily done and there is plenty of great playing from a state-of-the-art horn and rhythm section. Some of the worship still touches my spirit but generally I find Ron's white/black praise synthesis to be unnervingly theatric rather than the intended passionately uninhibited. But that's me I guess.
