The latest in a long line of Christian musicals from the pen of Roger Jones, this focuses on Stephen, the first Christian martyr. If you’ve heard any of Roger’s previous work, you’ll know what to expect: easy to learn tunes with solidly Christian lyrics, and if you want to organise or get involved in a worthwhile musical event at your church or fellowship, then you can’t go far wrong with a Roger Jones opus. In absolute performance terms, this CD is nothing to get excited about, but as a teaching aid for participants, it does the job perfectly well. Any scoffers and sneerers who tend to look down their noses at Roger and his music ministry might do well to remember that the first Wildfire tour last autumn played to packed houses, and many hundreds of people got blessed to bits, which must say something.
