The latest offering 'Pharisee' is religious entertainment with a message which will only be understood by the Bible wise church goer. Conceptually he is preaching to the converted and musically Roger Jones is still living in the '70s and sadly so are the folks who will enjoy this old fashioned tread through the old, old story. The world has changed in the last 20 years and so have musicals. If Jones had written and recorded 'Pharisee' in 1976 he would have been hailed a classic. In 1996, it sounds ordinary and out of date.

Pharisee is a wonderful musical...
I actually took a non-believer to watch it when it
premiered, and she loved it and was very moved by it...so I
don't agree with the above...
I think, Mike, you are discounting the work of the Spirit to
overide our preferences.
The version of 'Jesus Lover Of My Soul' in it is so
beautiful.
