Reviewed by Tom Lennie The latest venture from Northern Ireland's favourite worship songwriter, recorded live in the Elim Church, Bangor, carries something of the zest of a live recording, while yet retaining the professionalism of a studio product. Contained within are 11 tracks, nine of them brand new compositions - the exceptions being "Heaven's Gate", co-written with Paul Baloche a few years ago, and a fine medley of songs that appear on previous Mark albums, along with a cover of compatriot, Brian Houston's "Mystical". The songs may be new, largely, but they come in the familiar format we're used to from this accomplished worship leader - easy-flowing songs with infectious melodies and ponderous lyrics. So accessible are they that just a couple of listens and these songs already feel familiar. Several are congregation-friendly, not least the bouncy "He Will Not Remember". Another is an acoustic folk story-song, telling of a woman who witnesses the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. Various other tracks are more personal and inspirational in mood and create a deep, reflective feel, notably the gorgeous "Clean Heart" and the equally moving "Calvary" (the finished work of Christ on the Cross crops up repeatedly on this set). A beautiful recording.
