Together with a band and some other vocalists, Rob Parker has recorded a trilogy of albums over the last 18 months. This one sets out to highlight the goodness and peace of God and his salvation poured out to the world. Highlights for me included "Sing Hallelujah", "When I Thought You Weren't There" and "Draw Me Closer", all written by Rob. Of the 18 tracks here, he wrote nine. The album starts in an ambient "soaking", Celtic-style mood with "Amazing Grace", livens up in the middle and ends with more slow washes of colour in "Covenant Of Promise". I found the slow start slightly soporific and wasn't engaged until well into the album. Having said that, there is an excellent version of Chris Tomlin's "Jesus Messiah" featuring grittier vocals from Andy Jefferson. Rob's own voice is more lyrical, shown to effect in "In The Presence Of Jehovah", with its soaring violin obligate from Ben Couper. "Draw Me Closer" is a standard-type worship ballad and "It Is Well" is an inspirational oldie, included to great effect.
