Parker is a former professional musician who has led worship at Christ Church, Bridlington for about 10 years. He has a number of worship albums behind him and on offer here is a collection of songs of testimony, praise and worship (12 tracks, giving just about 70 minutes of music), the vast majority of which are composed by Parker, with one contribution from each of two other band members. There is a strong Celtic feel running through collection and the musical and lyrical style places it just to one side of mainstream corporate worship. The songs are in the main very well constructed and executed, with all but a couple comfortably hitting their mark. There is excellent variety and contrast both within individual tracks and across the end-to-end listen, with Parker sharing the vocal leads sensitively (in the main with Angie Lendon, who has a stunning voice) and building into the collection appropriate periods of reflection to balance the up-tempo sections. The Celtic feel comes in the main from the superb violin lines built into a number of the tracks, and the work of the violin against the piano is one of the most memorable features of the album. Well worth investigating.
