Reading-based worship leader Rob Eisner is the former front of the band Broken State and, under the production auspices of Trevor Michael (Matt Redman, Ian Yates), has stepped out as a solo artist with this six-track EP. The combination of Eisner's honed skills as a songwriter and Michael's production expertise ensures that this offering is of a high quality and there's enough variety stylistically to keep things interesting. For instance, the dance vibe of "Rescued" sits nicely next to more standard-sounding modern worship fare such as "Your Grace" and "Have Your Way" which contain the mid-temp pounding drums and chiming guitars that are the order of the day. Eisner's voice has a passion and believability to it and this helps bring life to a collection of songs that have an overriding theme of yearning for God. The thought-provoking "Take My Life (I Hold Nothing Back)", which succinctly recognises the dangers of falling into a lip service relationship with God before pledging to make Jesus the centre once again, is arguably the highlight of this promising debut.
