Reviewed by Brian Carr What we have here is a lady with attitude, an attitude of gutsy, open hearted worship. Rita Springer, the name seems strangely familiar, but from where? It's the signature that I have seen on many a tune, especially on the Vineyard label. The sleevenotes record thanks to Kim Hill for "being a true fan of this heart of mine". A Springer song "You Are Still Holy" appeared on Kim Hill's 'Arms Of Mercy' album. In fact this Springer offering could be a "sister album", being very much in the same vein, which is not surprising really as they share the same producer, our very own Andy Piercy. There is consistency of mood, a sameness to each track, you could say, throughout the whole album and if you share the heartbeat of it, then take it with you into your "secret place" and let it waft you into the ways of God. The opening track "Oh How You Love Me" has blurring, biting guitars upfront of the mix, and on tracks where the grungy guitars don't give an edgy feel, Rita's keyboards add a satisfying depth. The album's line up includes two tracks not the artist's own, Matt Redman's "Lord Let Your" Glory Fall" and a version of Reuben Morgan's "You Said" already a favourite but I have not heard it sung better. Brilliant!
