The Resurrection Band and Petra are celebrating twenty years of music this year. Rez, as they are now called, have recorded no less than twelve albums, not a bad record for a band who are considered by many to be the founders of Christian heavy metal music. They have in their 11-album career only recorded one duff album ('Hostage') and one previous in concert album ('Live' Bootleg). Album number 12 is a very long awaited double length (two cassettes or two CDs) live recording. The album was cut in March of this year at the Capernicus Centre in Chicago and it capĀtures a celebration of twenty years of Rez. Material spans from the very early days of The Resurrection band with songs from their very first albums such as "Waves", "Millitary man" and "Colours" through to tracks from their last studio album ('Civil Rites'). I have already played 'Twenty Years' to death. The album features guests who have connections with JPUSA such as Grace & Glory and Willie Kemp. Rez lengthy ministry proves without doubt that the Lord DOES use hard rock music for the extension of his kingdom. The spiritual content of this album puts that of many of the more acceptable gospel artists to shame. No compromise Christian music with a no compromise message
