Alongside Petra, Resurrection Band must surely be in contention for the 'most dedicated Christian band of all time' award. Now some genius at their record label has decided to re-release on compact disc some of the band's earlier albums. Both 'Rainbow's End' (from 1979) and 'Awaiting Your Reply' (1978) can be considered to be classics of contemporary Christian music. Today the music of Rez (as they are now known) can be categorised under 'White Metal'. However, the music on offer on this double CD is far from the modern, heavy metal sound of Rez. This is raunchy, West Coast-sounding rock which, though a little dated for today's contemporary buffs, has plenty of grit from Glenn, Wendy and co. Stand out tracks for me are "Afrikaans", "Awaiting Your Reply" and "Broken Promises". Of course, the packaging of this CD falls into line with the way most imported American albums are packaged -very poorly. Recommended, even if you have the albums on vinyl, with music of this timelessness they're bound to be pretty beat up by now.
