A very well produced album from a Dutch artist, who at times put me in mind of the late Jim Reeves. I think Jim would have liked the professional sound of a Hammond organ, piano, electric and acoustic guitar. 12 tracks in all starting with the Dallas Frazier country mega hit from the 1970s "There Goes My Everything", here Christianised as "He Is My Everything". Rene does a similar thing with the old country hit from the 1940s "Release Me", here re-titled "Please Release Me". Full marks to the next track "Sweet Spirit", more famously known as "Sweet Sweet Spirit" heard at many Elvis Presley concerts, and the Andrae Crouch classic "Through It All" are well handled while the closer "Where No One Stands Alone" is just terrific. My only criticism is that Rene could have done a couple more uptempo tracks. But if you like the idea of a batch of songs popularised through Bill & Gloria Gaither's Homecoming Friends series impeccably sung in old school country crooner style and with some spot on production from Dutch country gospel stalwart Wim Pols this is an album for you.
