Nebraska pop rockers Remedy Drive have gone through an evolution in the past few years. That hard work, change and emotion can be heard throughout this album. Their musical influences take in everyone from Switchfoot to Coldplay and their opener "Better Than Life" is an honest anthem that merges some pounding piano playing and driving guitar, as lead singer David Zach uses his distinctive voice to push home a message of reliance upon God. On "Resuscitate Me", the band changes musical direction to something heavier, and this is where I believe the band thrive. There are some nice Muse-like guitar-ramblings at the end of the song, which you hear again later on the album. The absolute highlight of the album is the belter "Make It Bright", which with its string infused rock, shines out among the other, softer tracks. "Glory" is a synth-rock combo that again shows the diverse range of songs this album has to offer, but sits aside the other guitar-driven tracks well. 'Resuscitate' is a great re-introduction to a band that bring to the table a varied take on a rock-worship album. The combination of anthems, honest ballads and heavier rock epics make this a refreshing listen.
