It has been a couple of years since Rachel's first mainstream album and the wait has been worth it. 'Sons And Daughters' is a well crafted collection of deep, competently written pop songs with a heart of worship and compassion that floods out in the words and the delivery. Moving from the joyous opening "This Is The Day" through the intense look at relationships in "Baby Hold On" to the closing piano ballad laying all things down in "I Yield" the lyrics cover a lot of ground and are helped by some nice arrangements. Though there are some occasional lapses into triteness, this is a pleasure to listen to and bears comparison to Amy Grant at her best and will come out with its head held high.
