Rachel Galloway is the daughter of Lenny Smith, the fondly remembered singer/songwriter who wrote the classic worship song "Our God Reigns". There isn't a song of that potential magnitude on Rachel's debut but this homespun set of folksy songs has a gentle, wistful quality that often reminds me of those folk and country-tinged Jesus music singers like Honeytree. Rachel's voice is perfectly suited to her self-composed songs of faith and adoration although occasionally on a track like "Do Not Worry" she sounds a bit thin on the upper register. Also, the production of these songs is little more than demo quality though strangely its lack of production polish adds to the aura of sincerity her sweet tones often engender.
