Queens Club were formed in 2007 by former members of metalcore band The Chariot, Dan Eaton and Jake Ryan, along with Andy Nichols and Tyler Bottles. 'Nightmarer' is their debut released in the form of a six-track EP. There are a number of musical influences evident over the five tracks and one remix that make up this CD. The opening title track is a guitar-driven out-and-out rocker with a powerful breakdown riff to wake you up and get the adrenaline pumping. This is followed by "Dust" which starts out in reflective mood with a synth intro before gradually building up to a massive finish with layers of guitars and synths. "Family Ties" is another upbeat guitar heavy rock track with a great variety of riffs and rhythms interweaving throughout and passionate vocals, "Greinke" is an out and out dance track with a pumping beat and synthpop lines, while "Uh Huh" shows off more punk influences with the gang vocal intro and the urgent, almost shouting vocals, set over riff heavy guitars. The final track, a remix of "Nightmarer" shows that Queens Club are keen to explore the more dance oriented side of rock but, in truth seems to be more filler than anything.
