Are you tired of all those instrumental albums that bring the same old hymns out of the closet and give you cheesy versions? Me too! Thankfully on this album, produced by Jonny Baker and Jon Birch, everything is stripped down and given a huge dub mix! Creative rhythm tracks, fresh arrangements and some brilliant grooves are the order of the day. These may have titles like "Abide With Me", "Great Is Thy Faithfulness" and "When I Survey The Wondrous Cross" and the sleeve may invite you to ".sing along to these great classics in a new way" but don't be fooled! You'd be extremely pressed to be able to name any of the tunes! This isn't "dub" in a classic Jamaican sense (oh how we long for some serious skanking ala King Tubby to hit Christendom). But it is bass heavy, rhythmic fun. As you'd expect it's all pretty chilled and perfect for winding down if you're a cool person and you've had a busy day!
