If you read Cross Rhythms' article awhile back you'll know that Poema is made up of two sisters Elle & Shealeen from Puckett Albuquerque, New Mexico. Between them they have crafted for themselves a sound that is both exciting and unique. Categorising this is difficult as the album draws from pop, rock, country and alternative influences with songs that speak in to its listeners' lives touching mainly on love and faith. 'Remembering You' opens with the Taylor Swift-sounding "Clear Getaway" setting the country/pop feel for the album with its subtle piano opening (Shealeen has been classically trained in piano). Other outstanding tracks include the engaging "Wonder", the relationship warning track "Playing With Fire" as "It will put you out", and the heart statement of "Your Song" where the sisters sing "In your heart I find my voice/You're the melody above the noise". Poema's (meaning beautiful masterpiece, and God's poem) musical style and lyrics have come at the right time, as similar music infiltrates the chart and speaks to a generation.
