This EP from Indianapolis-born singer/songwriter Plumb finds the artist formerly known as Tiffany Arbuckle Lee letting her hair down and celebrating the more commercialised side of Christmas in style. Whilst there's not a single mention of the spiritual aspect of the advent season, it's hard not to get swept up by the enthusiasm with which Plumb promotes the holidays in the likes of "Christmas Vacation" (based melodically on Lloyd Price's "Just Because") and the title track - both of which are chock full of decorations, sleigh bells and mentions of Santa. Elsewhere, Plumb turns in the obligatory festive heartbreak song with "Another Year Has Gone By" whilst the novelty song "I Want A Hippopotamus For Christmas" with all its shoehorned rhyming couplets is a lot of fun. As ever, Plumb turns in a stellar vocal performance - none more so than in an assured cover of the old chestnut "It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas" (which happens to also feature Bohemian Rhapsody/Downhere singer Marc Martel) to put the proverbial star on the tree of this enjoyable and unashamedly tinselly offering.
