With this second release in a series of four free EPs, Jimmy Sisco's hardcore outfit wade in with a typically aggressive set of five tracks. The title cut is an impressive punk onslaught with a classic hardcore feel and a catchy refrain. "Absentee" follows with its pleasing stop start intro and the slower "A Long Ride From Hell" has a short lyrical nod to John Newton's "Amazing Grace". Platoon 1107 manage to combine mature writing with an inventive, aggressive sound. Rat-a-tat drums and shredding guitars litter this short release. Closing with "First To Fight", this album includes a burst of a presidential speech over "The Battle Hymn Of The Republic". As a non-American listener this is difficult to relate to and takes the edge off the recording. Having said this, the EP is an enjoyable noise fest of angry and patriotic music.
