Reviewed by Nigel Bayley While the name Planetshakers might seem presumptuous, their 2007 album could well live up to the title. Recorded live at the beginning of the year, 'Saviour Of The World' is a CD and DVD package of the entire album, featuring new songs from Sam Evans, Henry Seeley (the two worship leaders), Mike Guglielmucci and Joth Hunt. The result is a complete success: every song is memorable and is performed expertly by the high octane band. The energy of the performance is tangible, and the level of perfection in the playing and production of the music is astonishing. The tracks that stand out are: "Reign Forever", an epic song with an anthemic chorus of "Jesus, King of Kings and you reign forevermore"; the powerful "Healer"; and the energetic, melodic title track. The DVD is of very high audio and visual quality, with excellent modern production, and interspersed testimonies and a message. There are plenty of special features, even including a "live worship" mode where the singers' voices have been removed, and lyrics displayed at the bottom of the screen. There is a great atmosphere of worship in the CD, as a result of the live recording, and this is particularly noticeable in the DVD. 'Saviour Of The World' is a landmark album in modern worship music, and shouldn't be overlooked.
