OK, so they sound more like a team of solicitors than a singing group, but PC&D have spent many years building up a following for their brand of tight harmonies and inspirational Nashville CCM style pop. The problem is that to English ears, this could be 4Him, New Song or a host of other Christian bands working out of Music City. There’s not much to separate this from everything else, and consequently we have an album that is good but never really great. The songs are fine. There’s the edgier “One Single Night” and “Living For Heaven” as well as the horn-filled, groovy but lyrically obvious anthem “New Millennium” (“New Millennium, same God” get the idea?). Then there’s the gentle ballads like “A Place Called Grace” and “I’ve Got You Covered” but throughout, I just had the feeling that I’d heard all of this stuff before. I can imagine a 35-year old housewife in Mississippi might dig this but for a British audience, it might as well have been recorded on Mars.
