Bailey, he of the delicious falsetto on Earth, Wind And Fire hits like "September" and "After The Love Has Gone" came to faith in 1975 but it wasn't until 1985 that he released this album, his first gospel set. As you'd expect from a man with a world famous voice, the vocal performances here are stunning but then so is the songwriting, arrangements and production. Although it might not be as funky as the EW&F stuff, this is a respectable slab of gospel R&B. Standouts include the strong opener "I Will No Wise Cast You Out" (a major Christian radio hit in the US) and the tight spare groove of "I Want To Know You" as well as the lilting sound of the title cut.
