After several years of writing and recording South Yorkshire's Paul Whitfield released this, his debut, in 2014. The worship leader kicks off with the title track on which Paul is joined by other voices on the powerful chorus. The next, more upbeat song is a standout. The songsmith himself said, "I was stuck for around three years with just the chorus of 'Supernatural Majesty' until one day I took it out of the drawer it had been placed in and made a conscious effort to write some verses and a guitar solo. Many of the tracks on this album are congregational songs." As the album progresses there is an upbeat duet with established singer/songwriter Philippa Hanna and "There'll Be Joy" has some uplifting lyrics ("One day you are going to look behind you/And wonder why you cried at all"). The track tells us of what joy Jesus can give us. There is a delightful version of "In Your Presence". 'Deeper With You" is a 14-track package though as it turns out, the final four tracks are instrumentals, one of them being a sax-led version of the title song, and seem rather an afterthought. But there is no doubting the quality of that Philippa Hanna duet.
