As no doubt most readers will know, Paul is the American worship leader best known for penning "Open The Eyes Of My Heart". This box set is a compilation of Paul's albums 'Open The Eyes Of My Heart' (2000) and 'God Of Wonders' (2001) with the DVD of the fifth album 'Offering Of Worship' (2003). Please note this is different to the US format of the same titled box set that comprises four albums. Both Paul's best known tracks are part of the 2001 studio album, whilst the later two albums are live recordings. "God Of Wonders" and "Amazing Grace" although covers, are classic tracks and the best ones on the second album. Paul's home state of Texas has clearly influenced the musical style with country blended with acoustic pop rock that has throwbacks to the 1970s. The violin solos contrast with the expected lead guitar in a way that cries "church hall line dancing". Consequently these tracks are not as vibrant as the versions that many will be more familiar with, although the drumming on "The Prayer Of Jabez" elicits screams of appreciation.
