It's ironic, though also commendable, that Owen - a London-based singer/songwriter who's been releasing his gutsy R&B/reggae hybrid since 2000's 'My God Mon Ami' - has released his most commercial and radio friendly track as a charity single. All royalties from the sales of "In Jesus" are going to help put a new youth facility in Brent. Another London-based talent Elvis Chambers helps Owen out on the hook of the song which is driven along by a simple but relentless bass groove. The release also comes with a rambling recitation on "U.N.I.T.Y" and a piece of slowish, soulful emoting from Mr Chambers on "It Is Well". But it's "In Jesus" which will catch the radio play (at least on the Cross Rhythms stations).
