Our Future Glory are an up-and-coming four-piece hailing from Dundee. This 2008 EP showcases four tracks with an emo vibe. Having said that, OFG seem content with anything other than introspective naval gazing - this is positive rock in the vein of Mae, Thrice and Relient K at their more mature. The songs on offer here are lyrically captivating, spiritually intriguing and refreshingly cliché free. "White Room" and "The Farewell" are particularly vivid and have real depth. The band is tight and creative - the rhythm section is driving but sensitive when required, while the guitars are imaginative, interesting and sometimes even effectively absent. Keys, vocoder, and urban influences are naturally integrated and while vocals occasionally falter, they hit more often than miss - and in fairness this is partly down to the production which is a little muddy. Despite this, good songs unabashedly shine through and OFG clearly understand what it takes to write a great song - from these four tracks I only see this band going from strength to strength.
