This album from the Ohio-based church kicks off with a real stomper. "Heart Beats Praise" with the audience enthusiastically responding to the anthem kicks off proceedings. The band pumps out a high-octane groove as lead singer, Amy Keesee Freudiger and her backing vocalists give it their all. Amy, who is also the worship director and project coordinator, says "the music is meant to bring a prophetic voice to churches" citing Isaiah 45, v.8 "Open up, O heavens, and pour out your righteousness." The tracks "God You Reign" and "You Gave" also stand out. My only quibble with the album is that the lyrics don't seem to go very deep. No problem with the sentiment, only that I didn't feel inspired by them. "Anthem Of The Ages" is another strong track, although I'm not sure God is really a song. I like the production by David Hanley and Sean Cook and the instrumental direction of Matthew Wooten is tight. It's just a shame there couldn't have been more depth to the lyrics.
